Hand Rehabilitation

What we do

The Occupational Therapists at the Chelsea Wellness Center use modalities, manual therapy, exercise, static and dynamic splinting, and ergonomics to treat a variety of upper extremity disorders.

Chelsea Community Hospital Certified hand therapist and highly experienced occupational therapists can help patients get back to their daily activities as quickly as possible.

Our advanced hand rehabilitation services include:

  • Activity modification to compensate for lost function or to avoid re-injury
  • Scar management
  • Edema control
  • Home exercise programs
  • Joint protection education
  • Regaining lost function
  • Scar reduction
  • Splinting

Upper extremity disorders like carpal tunnel syndrome, repetitive trauma disorders, arthritis, fractures, traumatic tendon injuries, ligament and muscle sprains/strains can interrupt a person's ability to complete the simplest of tasks and are treated by the CCH hand team which collectively brings more than 100 years of hand experience.

Who is eligible?

To receive treatment, you must first be evaluated and diagnosed by your physician. You will receive a prescription for an occupational therapist to evaluate you and customize a treatment to address your specific needs.
