Bradley Caloia, DO, Named March Patient-Focused Physician
BRADLEY CALOIA, DO, NAMED ST. JOSEPH MERCY PATIENT-FOCUSED PHYSICIAN
Port Huron, MI...Bradley Caloia, DO, was named the March 2013 St. Joseph Mercy Patient-Focused Physician. The St. Joseph Mercy Patient-Focused Physician award highlights a physician's commitment to working collaboratively to promote patient and community health through clinical excellence and patient-focused care. Physicians honored with this award must also be one whom St. Joseph Mercy Hospital staff and volunteers would recommend to family and friends in the community.
An Emergency Department physician, Dr. Caloia provides care and treatment to patients through the St. Joseph Mercy Emergency Room (ER). He was nominated for his kind and approachable manner with patients and staff as well as his commitment to efficiency and clinical excellence.
"Dr. Caloia has an understanding and unique insight in relation to the patient's medical situation as well as mental state," comments his nominator. "He takes his time with the patients and ensures the patient and his/her family all have a clear understanding of the diagnosis, treatment plan, medications and follow-up care needed for a successful recovery. Dr. Caloia also understands that knowledge is power and works with the patient to fully inform him/her of the illness, needs for care at home, or provides an overview if the patient must be admitted to the hospital. I would recommend Dr. Caloia because he provides the utmost patient care and is a man of integrity, in whom I have a great deal of confidence."
"Dr. Caloia is a terrific asset to our health care community," states Rebekah Smith, RN, St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron (SJMPH) President and CEO. "His outstanding performance has been noted by those who work most closely with him and has been highlighted through his nomination. I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to Dr. Caloia for elevating the health status of our community."
"I'd like to express my appreciation at being chosen for this honor. It was an unexpected surprise," comments Bradley Caloia, DO. "Healing itself is governed by nature. As a physician, I believe I serve my patients best by offering comfort, giving sound advice and teaching as much as I can about the disease or condition that brings them to our Emergency Department."
The St. Joseph Mercy Patient-Focused Physician Award is designed to highlight outstanding collaboration between our physician community and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital patient care and volunteer staff. Nominations are accepted from all staff and volunteers, and are blinded and reviewed by a Nominations Review Committee. The award is presented routinely to a physician on staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
