Innovative Robotic Knee Replacement Surgery Seminar Featuring Edward Nebel, MD, Planned
Port Huron, Mi…St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron will hold a Free public information seminar on Tuesday, September 28, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., in Port Huron, exploring the advanced benefits of a new minimally invasive knee resurfacing procedure now offered exclusively at St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron. Edward Nebel, MD, of Nebel Orthopedic Center, will provide the medical presentation and free hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron is the first hospital in region, and only the second in the state of Michigan, to perform MAKOplasty®, a new, minimally invasive robotic partial knee resurfacing procedure used to treat early to mid-stage osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee. MAKOplasty®, powered by the RIO® Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic system, offers a more precise and consistent result for partial knee resurfacing and is less invasive than its total knee replacement alternative. Featured speaker, Edward Nebel, MD, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon, who has been practicing in Port Huron since 1976. Dr. Nebel's practice concentrates on arthroscopic knee surgeries, as well as partial and total knee and hip replacements with greater than 300 cases performed per year. Dr. Nebel is one of a total of 10 surgeons performing the new surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron.
