Mercy Diabetes Center Hosts "Home...Sweet...Home" Fall Diabetes Education Event
Port Huron, MI…St. Joseph Mercy’s Diabetes Education Department is pleased to host the 2009 community education event, “Home…Sweet…Home”. This event is open to all type 1 and type 2 individuals living with diabetes, who would like more in-depth information regarding diabetes self-management and changing behaviors to help manage diabetes.
This year’s premier adult diabetes education program will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the St. Joseph Mercy Baggot Street Café. The event will include interactive presentations by guest speakers Robert Camara, DO, who will provide detailed patient care information; Kevin Townsend, RPh, who will offer information on behavior change and goal setting; and – back by popular demand – Mr. Sweet (Jeff Hoomaian) who will return to discuss his progress as he continues down the road of diabetes self management.
Presented by St. Joseph Mercy’s highly-skilled diabetes educators, the program will explore key diabetes information and provide real-world tips to successfully manage diabetes. The cost of the event is $10 per person, and will include lunch, a free gift, the presentation, and informational and educational displays from local diabetes vendors.
