St. Joseph Mercy Oakland to Offer Breast Cancer Awareness Educational Program Oct. 24
Pontiac, Mich. - St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) will offer its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month educational program, “Enlightened Conversations: The Breast Cancer Walk (A Mile in Her Shoes)” Thursday, October 24 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in the Franco Communications Center within the hospital, 44405 Woodward Ave, Pontiac.
The free educational and inspirational evening will feature hors d’oeuvres and desserts; presentations on the latest cancer updates, the experiences of a breast cancer survivor and food choices to help fight and prevent cancer; a question and answer session, and a reflexology demonstration. The evening will also include a viewing of a portion of the Lilly Oncology on Canvas: Expressions of a Cancer Journey art collection that honors the physical and emotional journeys people face when confronted by a cancer diagnosis.
The evening is open to current breast cancer patients, former patients, family members, friends, anyone who has been touched by breast cancer and those who want to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I
