St. Mary Mercy Continues Growth of Primary Care Network New Medical Group Opens in Farmington Hills

On April 21, St. Mary Mercy Hospital opened a new primary care practice in Farmington Hills as part of the St. Mary Mercy Medical Group, 36650 Grand River Avenue, Ste. 101, phone number 734-655-8220. The practice will include two physicians respectively board-certified in internal medicine and family medicine: Neesha Berry, MD and Barbra Alvir, DO. Starting in June, Westside Obstetrics and Gynecology physicians Catherine Winslow, MD and Karol Otteman, DO will also have office hours at this new location.

The physicians at St. Mary Mercy Medical Group Farmington Hills provide primary care for patients of all ages including: general medical exams, yearly physicals, acute illness, sports physicals and sports injuries, women’s wellness, adolescent and Pediatric health care as well as treatment for adults with complex medical conditions.

The Farmington Hills practice is part of a larger Primary Care Network which includes five physicians and two offices in Livonia. Additional physicians coming on board in the near future. As a result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), it has been estimated that 29 million people have become covered by mandatory health insurance this year. In addition to covering the previously uninsured, population growth and an aging population are driving reasons for improved patient access to primary care.

All physicians with the St. Mary Mercy Medical Group utilize their diverse specialties to treat a variety of conditions affecting patients ranging from infants to seniors. Services include sports medicine, women’s wellness, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and adolescent health care, acupuncture, diabetes, heart disease, medical oncology, gastrointestinal care, cholesterol management and other age-appropriate health screenings.

Office hours are Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extend hours on Wednesday until 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The office includes on-site lab draw.

New patients and most major insurances are accepted. Same-day appointments and walk-in hours are available.
