Student Nurse Intern Program

Start your nursing career with the Saint Joseph Mercy Health System summer Student Nurse Intern (SNI) Program. This is a ten-week paid mentorship offering student nurses a unique opportunity to expand their clinical knowledge, reinforce nursing skills and increase clinical competency in relating theory to practice.

Student Nurse Internships are available in the following areas:

  • Adult Oncology
  • Medical Unit
  • Cardiac Medicine Progressive Care Units
  • Psychiatry – Inpatient/Outpatient
  • Emergency Department
  • Rehabilitation
  • Intensive Care Units
  • Surgical Progressive Care Unit
  • Medical Progressive Care Unit
  • Surgical Unit

Program Opportunities

  • EKG classes along with new RNs (ICU/PCU placements)
  • Mentorship with RN preceptors
  • Individualized experiences according to interests
  • Network with other Student Nurse Interns

Program Qualifications

  • 3.2 GPA (or above)
  • Available to work 36 - 40 hours per week for ten weeks
    starting June 1 – August 8, 2015 at a rate of $13 per hour
  • Senior Status in BSN program (by Fall 2015)
