"The OARC actually gave me my life back. I had lost all confidence that I could function again without pills, which I had used for 20 years. I learned how to cope with my anxieties when they appeared, and also how to resume my life again. I can now speak in public and perform about any task I'm asked to do. I've been a peer counselor at the OARC for 16 years, and I still find I learn new issues for me to use every day. Thank you, OARC counselors!"

"I am a different person today because of the education and support I received at the OARC. They have shown me how to be happy and live life without alcohol. Seeing so many others that felt like I did made me feel not so alone and different. My therapist helped me see that I am a good person and gave me the inspiration to go on. There is hope. I couldn't have done it without them. Thanks to all."

"Treatment in the hospital saved my life. Going to the OARC made life worth living. I was a social drinker run amok-drinking weekends, then daily, then earlier and earlier. Drinking was my best friend.

When I got sober, I needed to find out how to live. The OARC taught me how to live constructively and soberly, to feel good about myself and relate to others.

I've been sober 18 years, do volunteer work, belong to a garden club, travel, am active in community affairs, play bridge, and really enjoy life."

"The OARC gave me freedom-to be me. I found a fellowship of love and support. I am a happy camper!"
